What cookies and browser storage do

Cookies are small pieces of information stored by a browser. Websites can also use local storage, session storage and similar technologies. This policy covers the SquareMile website at mysquaremile.app, operated by Lightpost Square LLC with technology and support from Emergia LLC.

What we store

The website stores your analytics choice in this browser only after you choose Allow analytics or Decline analytics. The local-storage key is squaremile.analytics-choice.v1. The record contains the preference and its version. Older versions of this website may also have stored squaremile-analytics-consent-v1; an existing decline is honored when there is no newer choice. It contains no name, email address, form contents or advertising identifier. A browser explicitly marked for internal testing also stores squaremile.analytics-internal.v1, containing only 1 or 0, so test events can be separated from public traffic.

The preference remains until you change it, clear this website’s browser data, or your browser removes it. We do not automatically turn a stored decline into an allowance. If storage is unavailable, optional analytics stays off.

We use PostHog for optional analytics only when you allow it. Analytics uses a temporary identifier in page memory rather than a persistent analytics cookie. We do not use advertising cookies or send form contents, email addresses, URL query strings or session recordings to analytics.

Your analytics choices

Optional analytics is off by default. Use the optional analytics notice to allow or decline it, or open Analytics choices in the footer to change an earlier choice. Closing the dialog leaves your existing choice unchanged. You can browse and request access without allowing analytics.

We honor Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track signals by keeping optional analytics off. When a signal is present, Allow analytics is unavailable. Clearing browser data removes the saved preference; it does not grant consent.

Optional analytics loads only after an explicit allowance. If you decline or withdraw that allowance, we stop future optional analytics collection. Withdrawal does not erase information already collected; contact us about privacy requests.

Declining optional analytics does not disable technical storage needed for website delivery, security or remembering your choice. It does not withdraw a signup or erase previously submitted information; those requests are explained in the Form Privacy Notice.

Choices apply to this browser. A different browser or device may have a different saved choice. Our use of page-memory identifiers instead of persistent analytics cookies does not make analytics required: it remains off until you allow it.

Hosting and security services

Hosting and security services help deliver the website, protect requests and prevent abuse. They may process technical request information and use storage needed to provide those services. These functions are separate from optional analytics.

Cloudflare may set a security cookie named __cf_bm to help distinguish legitimate visitors from automated traffic. Cloudflare says this cookie expires after 30 minutes of continuous inactivity. This security cookie is separate from optional analytics. See Cloudflare’s cookie information. Cloudflare Turnstile checks form submissions for automated activity. Security checks are not permission to use your information for optional analytics. The Form Privacy Notice explains how request and security information is handled.

Fonts, statistics and video

Fonts are hosted locally. The homepage requests aggregate statistics from the SquareMile API and shows a dated saved snapshot when live statistics is unavailable.

Watch and Discover images, posters and videos may be requested from mysquaremile.app or static.metricool.com when a page, player or media file loads, including before you press Play. Their hosts receive technical request information needed to deliver the media. Your browser may cache media and other website files.

Links to event venues, social platforms and other websites take you to services with their own privacy practices.

Form information and launch notifications

Browser-storage choices are separate from information you submit in an early-access request or launch-notification signup. The Form Privacy Notice explains collection, purposes, separate launch consent, withdrawal and retention.

Managing browser data

You can remove this website’s cookies and local storage through your browser settings. Clearing browser data removes your saved analytics choice. Blocking storage may prevent your choice from being saved; optional analytics will remain off.
